The 76ers got their point guard back and got back in the win column on Friday, beating the Hawks 99-80. Jrue Holiday scored 11 and had seven assists in his return, leading Philadelphia to their first win in six games. The Sixers last won on December 10 against Detroit, and are now just one game under .500. Evan Turner led all scorers in the game with 21.
The Atlantic Division-leading Knicks lost a chippy game against the Bulls, 110-106. Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler and head coach Mike Woodson were all tossed from the game for sparring with opponents and officials. Chicago forward Joakim Noah was tossed alongside Chandler when the two tangled on a rebound.
The Celtics remain a half game up on the Sixers for third in the division despite losing an overtime game against the Bucks, 99-94. The Raptors beat the Magic 93-90, but remain last in the division by a wide margin.
