NJIT vs Villanova 2012: Highlanders visit the Pavilion

Villanova will try to extend its winning streak to five games on Friday when it hosts NJIT.

The Villanova Wildcats will try to extend their winning streak to five games on Friday as they play host to NJIT. The Highlanders have never played Villanova before but have competed against several Big East teams pretty well despite losing to them this season. It will be the last non-conference game of the season for Villanova, who is currently 8-4 on the year.

NJIT has put together a 6-5 start to the season and is paced by senior guard Chris Flores. Flores is averaging over 17 points and two steals per game, and stopping him from getting easy baskets will be a key for the Wildcats to avoid the upset. Ryan Woods chips in with 13.7 points per game for NJIT, and the pair has been the team's only double-digit scorers over the last three games.

JayVaughn Pinkston has been leading the Villanova offense this season, scoring 12.5 points per game. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET from the Pavilion.
