At 5-1 on the season and leading the Atlantic 10 Conference, the La Salle Explorers look to continue their success thus far on the young season when the team visits the Northeastern Huskies on Saturday at the Matthews Arena.
Led by Tyreek Duren, the Explorers have won five consecutive games and have not lost since Nov. 18 against Central Connecticut. The junior guard is averaging 18.5 points, 2.8 rebounds with 3.7 assists this year and has scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games.
Duren will be opposed by Northeastern's top player, Joel Smith. The 6'4'' senior guard is averaging 17 points on the season, but is coming off of arguably his poorest performance.
While the Explorers enter Saturday with a five-game winning streak, the Huskies have lost three in a row. All of which have been losses by small margins, though, so the team could be due for some good fortune.
