The La Salle Explorers look to stem the recent tide of close losses on Saturday afternoon when they visit the Fordham Rams for a 1 p.m. tip off.
La Salle has dropped four out of five, with all the losses coming by single digits, including three by a combined seven points. The Explorers split back-to-back one-point games in the past week, edging UMass last Saturday 72-71 and following that with an 80-79 overtime home loss to Temple on Wednesday. Earl Pettis scored 33 points in the latter outing, but he and teammate Sam Mills each missed a potential game-winner on the final possession.
Fordham has failed in its last six attempts for a victory, falling by a combined 46 points in two games during the past week. The Rams are paced by Chris Gaston's 16.6 points and 9.8 rebounds.
