Ilya Bryzgalov returned to the net Tuesday night, recording his third straight shutout in a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. He rested Sunday, and Sergei Bobrovsky gave up four goals in a loss to New Jersey. The Flyers got their revenge, however, on the strength of goals by Sean Couturier, Jakub Voracek and Danny Briere.
The top star of the night was no doubt Bryzgalov. The shutout was also his fourth in five game after an auspicious start to the season. He wasn't tested much on Tuesday night, but he turned back all 17 of the Devils' shots on goal.
Meanwhile, the Flyers peppered Martin Brodeur with 29 shots just two nights after he recorded his 650th career win. Couturier opened the scoring with a wristshot from the goal-line, assisted by Braydon Coburn. Voracek extended the lead with a backhand in the crease just 2:14 into the third period. Finally, Briere scored from the bottom of the circle on an empty net with just under five minutes to play to cap the scoring.
The Flyers will hit the road again for their next two games, visiting the New York Islanders on Thursday night and the Boston Bruins on Saturday afternoon.
