Flyers Vs. Panthers Final Score: Philadelphia Falls, 2-1, Tuesday Night

More: Flyers outplay Panthers, but fail to get bounces in loss

The Philadelphia Flyers entered Tuesday night's game as winners of their last five games against the Florida Panthers. That streak ended, as the Flyers failed to generate much offense despite taking 36 shots on net. Meanwhile, Ilya Bryzgalov suffered his first truly shaky performance in some time, allowing two goals on just 13 shots against.

The Flyers couldn't find the net until nearly eight minutes had passed in the second period. Eric Wellwood got the goal, just his fourth of the season, from 25 feet away off an assist by Kimmo Timonen. Scott Clemmensen was spectacular on the night for the Panthers despite starting for the first time since March 3. He had given up at least three goals in three of his last four outings.

The Flyers now sit five points out of first place atop the Eastern Conference standings, and four points behind the fourth-place Pittsburgh Penguins. They will host the Washington Capitals on Thursday, followed by the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
