Elton Brand scored a team-high 25 points and collected 10 rebounds Saturday to help the Philadelphia 76ers clip the Atlanta Hawks, 95-90, at the Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers used a 13-7 run late in the fourth quarter to collect a bounce-back victory that keeps them idle in the seventh-place spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
Led by forward Josh Smith, who scored a game-high 34 points, the Hawks took a four-point lead heading into the final quarter, however, the Sixers responded with their run to take a 83-77 lead with 5:07 to play. Atlanta did get to within three points with 1:08 left, but Philadelphia was able to hang on.
Forward Andre Iguodala scored 18 points for the Philly, while Evan Tuner added 13 and Jodie Meeks had 12 off the bench.
The Sixers shot nearly 50-percent from the field, including making half of their 12 3-point attempts. Philly also out-rebounded Atlanta 41-35.
