The All Big East first, second, third, honorable mention and rookie teams were announced today and the Villanova Wildcats have just one guy on any of the lists.
Leading scorer Maalik Wayns was named to the all Big East second team. Wayns led the Wildcats in scoring with a career high 17.5 points per game. He also led the team in minutes per game and assists.Nova coach Jay Wright commended Wayns for his play this season.
"In our program, we put a lot of pressure on our point guards and we put a lot of pressure on our captains, and he's doing both as a junior," Villanova coach Jay Wright said.
"I feel for him sometimes. I talk to him about it. We play against other teams and they've got other great players around them. They've got some seniors to play with. He's got to do everything for us. He's got to run the show. He's got to guard the best guard. He's got to score. And it's hard."
