Patriot League Tournament 2012: Bucknell Vs. Lehigh In The Final

On Wednesday evening, the Patriot League will finally have its champion after top-seeded Bucknell and second-seeded Lehigh battle in the championship game.

The Bison (24-8, 12-2) have gotten to this stage by absolutely crushing their last two opponents. They pounded Navy 87-63 before leaving Lafayette in their wake with a 79-52 win. Bucknell has won 16 of 18 including a current four game winning streak.

On the other side, the Mountain Hawks are coming into this contest after dispatching Colgate 70-57 and beating American 85-66. Lehigh is also red-hot, winners of seven consecutive and 11 of its last 12 games.

In two previous match-ups this season, both teams have tasted victory once. The Mountain Hawks won the most recent affair 56-53 on Feb. 16th on the back of C.J. McCollum who hit a game-winning 3-pointer with only a second remaining.

The Bison will need to contain McCollum, who is averaging better than 21 points per game to lead the conference and rank him sixth overall in the nation.
