MLS All-Star Game 2012: Chelsea, Not Manchester United, To Play At PPL Park, According To Sources

The city of Philadelphia was honored with the 2012 MLS All-Star Game in January, and now sources are telling the SB Nation blog The Brotherly Game that Chelsea of the English Premier League will be the opponent of the MLS All-Star squad on July 25 at PPL Park.

Chelsea will face the best of MLS on July 25, a source with knowledge of the game informed the Brotherly Game. An internal memo was also sent to Philadelphia Union affiliated organizations, according to the source, that stated the London club's summer tour date in Philadelphia was to be at PPL Park.

According to The Brotherly Game, Chelsea was the opponent in the '06 MLS All-Star Game and lost 1-0. This year's squad will showcase premier players like Didier Drogba, Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres.
