NBA Standings 2012: 76ers Hanging Onto 7th Playoff Spot

The NBA's regular season officially reached its final month on Sunday, and with just 26 days to go in the season the Philadelphia 76ers have a bit of work to do if they'd like their season to continue into the playoffs. After Saturday night's 95-90 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, the seventh-place Sixers (29-23) own a 2 1/2-game advantage on the eighth-place New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference standings.

Philly also is five games better than ninth-place Milwaukee Bucks, who are more than likely trying to just chase down the Knicks to sneak into the postseason.
