The NBA's regular season officially reached its final month on Sunday, and with just 26 days to go in the season the Philadelphia 76ers have a bit of work to do if they'd like their season to continue into the playoffs. After Saturday night's 95-90 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, the seventh-place Sixers (29-23) own a 2 1/2-game advantage on the eighth-place New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference standings.
Philly also is five games better than ninth-place Milwaukee Bucks, who are more than likely trying to just chase down the Knicks to sneak into the postseason.
However, a lot can change in the final three weeks of the season, especially in the next four games which features games against the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics.
