2012 Penn Relays: USA Women Sweep 4x400, 4x100 Meter Relays

The US women’s Red team won the 4×400 meter relay in the USA Vs the World challenge at the Penn Relays on Saturday. The team was stocked with Olympians Francena McCorory, Allyson Felix, Natasha Hastings and Sanya Richards-Ross.

The Jamaican team of Shericka Williams, Novlene Williams-Mills, Sophia Smellie and Kaliese Spencer came in second nearly 5 seconds behind.

The USA Blue team took third with a time of 3:27.08. That feature Dee Dee Trotter, Jessica Beard, Moushami Robinson & Monica Hargrove. Great Britain, Nigeria & Canada rounded out the field.

Allyson Felix, along with Tianna Madison, Bianca Knight & Carmelita Jeter also won the women’s 4×100 meter relay this afternoon as a part of the USA red squad with a time of 42.19. They edged second place Jamaica by less than a second.

The Penn Relays event has been held annually since 1895 and is the oldest track and field event in the United States.
