In less than a week it'll be that one moment when anticipation and reality collide while the unmistakable sound of rushing hooves can be heard across the United States.
The 138th running of the Kentucky Derby will of course be taking place at the venerable Churchill Downs, probably the most prestigious and famous horse track in the world.
Contrary to some instances where there is one clear favorite in the field, we're given two horses that might only be separated by where the draw puts them at the start. It's so close that both horses currently have 9/2 odds on them.
Bodemeister and Union Rags have the most expectations coming into the Derby because many experts feel there is little difference between the two.
The odds for some of the other horses follow:
Gemologist is 8/1
Dullahan is 9/1
Alpha and Creative Curse both come in at 11/1
