2012 Masters Leaderboard: Louis Oosthuizen, Lee Westwood Lead At -4

South African Louis Oosthuizen is the leader in the clubhouse at 2012 Masters after shooting a four under 68 in his opening round. Lee Westwood is hot on his heels also at 4 under through 14 holes.

Paul Lawrie, Miguel Angel Jimenez & Francesco Molinari are all finished for the day at 3 under and currently sit in second place.

Tiger Woods and defending champion Charl Schwartzel both finished at even par for the day, tied for 29th. Rory McIlroy has struggled through 12 holes at even par, but not as bad as Phil Mickelson who is at +4 through 12. Phil’s short game has been strong today, but his terrible tee shots have been his undoing so far.

American Patrick Cantlay is the top amateur on the day at 1 under. The sophomore from UCLA says that his experiences playing in the US Open and a few other PGA Tour events has helped steel his nerves at Augusta.

“I feel really comfortable playing in pro events. I don’t feel quite as in awe of everyone as I did when I showed up at the US Open and I’m definitely drawing on those experiences to help me this week and going forward.”
