The Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins conclude their regular season on Saturday with a meaningless playoff preview at Consol Energy Center. (Game Time: 4 p.m., TV Schedule: NBCSN)
Pittsburgh has already wrapped up the No. 4 seed and the Flyers have secured the No. 5, so the two teams know they will meet in the first round of the playoffs and that the Penguins will have home ice advantage. With that in mind the two rivals, who had an all-out brawl in their last meeting, are likely to leave some punches un-thrown on Saturday.
During their last meeting, the two sides erupted in a last-minute brawl after Joe Vitale crushed Danny Briere with a clean hit. The two coaches even got into the action, screaming at each other from across the glass, and Philadelphia coach Peter Laviolette called Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma "gutless."
