The Lehigh Mountain Hawks entered the fourth quarter of Sunday night's first round game against the Maryland Terrapins with an 8-6 lead. That lead wilted to a Maryland offense that had scored 45 goals over its previous three games. The Terrapins won, 10-9, to advance to the second round of the 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament where they will face the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays.
Joe Cummings took control of the ball with under a minute remaining, and ran the clock down to 30 seconds before beginning his run behind Lehigh's net. He was finally able to beat his defender around the left hand side of the net, shook another defender and scored the game winner on a wraparound with just six seconds to play.
Despite Cummings' heroics, Drew Snider was arguably the player of the game with three goals scored on seven shots. Kyle Stiefel led the Seawolves with three tallies.
