The second leg of the 2012 horse racing Triple Crown had the same result as the first leg, but a closer finish made for a ton more drama.
Two weeks ago, at Churchhill Downs, I'll Have Another passed Bodemeister on the final stretch to win the Kentucky Derby, with approximately 200 yards remaining. This Saturday, at the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, Bodemeister once again led for 99 percent of the race, but I'll Have Another surpassed the favorite, with only a few yards to go, to win the Preakness.
With the win, I'll Have Another will have the opportunity to win horse racing's Triple Crown at Belmont – something that hasn't been done since 'Affirmed' did, in 1978.
