Indianapolis 500 2012 Weather Forecast: Mostly Sunny, 10 Percent Chance Of Rain

The early forecast for the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500 looks clear and hot. According to weather.com, Sunday's forecast is "mostly sunny", with a high of 95 degrees and a low of 72. There's a 10 percent chance of rain, winds from the south at 6-10 miles per hour, and 50 percent humidity.

Noon is the official start time for the race, which lasts 200 laps, and gates open to the public at 5:33 AM, according to the official website of the Indy 500. Notable events leading up the race itself include: Snake Pits, Bikini/Hot Bod Contest, Engine warm-up, Vintage Cars Laps, Military Tribute Lap and Driver Introductions.
