Indianapolis 500 2012 Weather Forecast: Mostly Sunny, 10 Percent Chance Of Rain

The early forecast for the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500 looks clear and hot. According to, Sunday's forecast is "mostly sunny", with a high of 95 degrees and a low of 72. There's a 10 percent chance of rain, winds from the south at 6-10 miles per hour, and 50 percent humidity.

Noon is the official start time for the race, which lasts 200 laps, and gates open to the public at 5:33 AM, according to the official website of the Indy 500. Notable events leading up the race itself include: Snake Pits, Bikini/Hot Bod Contest, Engine warm-up, Vintage Cars Laps, Military Tribute Lap and Driver Introductions.
