The 2012 Kentucky Derby is just two days away. Yesterday, we learned the post positions for the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby. In addition, the updated odds for the race came out and Bodemeister is now the favorite at 4/1 while the former co-favorite, Union Rags, remains at 9/2 odds.
Both horses have good positioning for the race with Union Rags coming out of the fourth gate and Bodemeister leaving out of the sixth gate. Next to Union Rags in the third gate is Take Charge Indy which is being ridden by jockey Calvin Borel, a three-time Kentucky Derby winner (2007, 2009, 2010). Take Charge Indy currently has 10/1 odds.
Could Borel pull off another victory at Churchill Downs? I have a feeling that it isn't his year so I'll take Union Rags to win, Gemologist starting out of the 15th gate (and currently at 6/1) to place and Take Charge Indy to show.
