2012 Kentucky Derby: Believe You Can Wins Kentucky Oaks

In the running of the 2012 Kentucky Oaks on Friday, Rosie Napravnik became the first female to win the Oaks riding atop Believe You Can.

It was a close race until the finish when Believe You Can pulled away from Broadway's Alibi. Grace Hall, the favorite before the race, came in third. Javier Castellano, the jockey for Grace Hall and Gemologist for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, fell in an earlier race on Friday. Grace Hall was never a factor in the race and didn't challenge Believe You Can and Broadway's Alibi

The Oaks was weather delayed by storms in the Louisville, Kentucky area.
