Its appears that the rumors of Rod Thorn possibly retiring have some legs behind it as the Philadelphia 76ers are currently interviewing replacements for Thorn according to a report from Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News.
According to Cooney, possible candidates for the position include former New Orleans GM Jeff Bower, San Antonio VP of operations Danny Ferry, Oklahoma City assistant general manager Troy Weaver, Atlanta general manager Rick Sund, San Antonio assistant general manager Dennis Lindsey, and Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond.
Thorn would be a part of the interview process along with owner Josh Harris, CEO Adam Aron, and head coach Doug Collins.
Cooney is reporting that the interview process could take over a year to complete, which would be the end of Thorn's three year contract with the club. At that point Thorn would slide to a part-time consulting role with the team for five seasons, a provision in his contract.
