Don't expect any scoring records to be set this weekend at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.
The site of the 2012 U.S. Open is "brutal," writes SB Nation's Brian Floyd, and Masters champion Bubba Watson agrees. He said he doesn't like the course because he doesn't want to shoot an 80.
Floyd put together a course tutorial which is required reading for anyone who wants to know more about the Olympic Club. It details the difficult 16th, 17th and 18th holes and describes the opening six holes as "a brutal stretch that can quickly derail a round before it truly gets started."
