Jason Bohn made the turn Thursday during the first round of the 2012 U.S. Open at 2-under par, one shot off the lead shared by Kevin Na and Branden Grace.
Bohn, a Lewisburg, PA native, opened with a birdie at hole No. 1 and added another birdie at No. 7, parring the other seven holes on the front nine.
Bohn failed to make the cut during his only previous U.S. Open appearance in 2008. At the time he made the turn, only eight golfers were under par at the treacherous Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.
The featured group of Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson were not as impressive battling the brutal course. After eight holes, Woods was 1-over par. Mickelson and Watson were both 4-over.
