Team USA Vs. Argentina: Kevin Durant Paces U.S. In 86-80 Win

Team USA men's basketball defeated Argentina, 86-80, in a pre-Olympics warm-up in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday.

The U.S. started red hot from behind the arc in the game and was able to build a 20-point lead before Argentina was able to make a comeback. Taking too many three-pointers was a part of the problem. Despite a 7-13 start, Team USA finished 13-34 from behind the arc. A Manu Ginobili three-point play in the fourth quarter cut the U.S. lead to 78-74 with 2:50 to play. The U.S. responded with back-to-back threes from Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.

Durant led the U.S. with 27 points. Kobe Bryant had 18 points and LeBron James had 15 points. Argentina was led by 23 points from Ginobili. Carlos Delfino chipped in 15 points and Luis Scola had 14 points.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala only saw limited minutes as the U.S. limited their rotation.
