The Women's 10m Air Rifle shooting event from the 2012 London Olympics is in the books, and two Americans finished in the top 10 but were unable to medal. The Gold Medal went to Siling Yi of China, the Silver went to Sylwia Bogacka of Poland, and Dan Yu of China rounded out the podium.
Pennsylvania was represented at the event, with Lebanon native Jamie Gray placing fifth. She posted a score 0f 397 in the qualifying round and 102.7 in the final. To demonstrate how tight the scores are in the shooting competitions, she finshed only 1.8 points off the podium and 3.2 points out of first. Gray will continue on to compete in the Women's 50m Rifle, 3 Position event. That takes place Saturday, Aug. 4. Gray's teammate on Team USA, Sarah Scherer, finished in seventh in the 10m Air Rifle, scoring 397 in the qualification and and 102.0 in the final.
