Team USA Vs. France Final Score: Americans Win Opening Game, 98-71

Team USA had very little trouble with France in their opening matchup at the Olympics in London, as the Americans defeated the Frenchmen, 98-71 on Sunday.

The Americans led by just one point following the first quarter, but in the second they outscored France, 30-15. The third quarter was similar to the second one in terms of Team USA outperforming France, but the Frenchmen did make a valiant effort in the fourth period. Team USA was already in control at that point.

Kevin Durant was the leading scorer for the Americans with 22 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Love put up 14 points, while Kobe Bryant added 10. Carmelo Anthony had nine points and nine boards, while Tyson Chandler chipped in eight points and nine rebounds. Deron Williams scored the fewest points of anybody on Team USA who played more than 15 minutes, with just three on the day.

76ers star Andre Iguodala had just one point, one rebound and two assists in 11 minutes of action.

Ali Traore put up 12 points to lead France, while Tony Parker added 10.
