2012 Summer Olympics Medal Count: United States, China Locked At 17 Apiece Tuesday

The United States and China are tied atop the medal count heading into Tuesday at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The U.S. won six Monday, including two golds. Matt Grevers won the men's 100-meter backstroke and 17-year-old Missy Franklin took gold in the women's 100-meter backstroke to highlight the day.

Japan (11), Italy (8) and France (7) round out the Top 5. France is just behind China and the U.S. with three gold medals. Yannick Agnel won his second of these Olympic games with a dominant performance in the men's 200-meter freestyle. He may have cost Team USA another medal, as Ryan Lochte took fourth in the event.
