Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Serena Williams Is Going Back To The Finals

Serena Williams pulled off an upset in the Wimbledon semifinals on Thursday to advance to the finals. This will be the American tennis player's seventh trip to the finals on the grass courts at Wimbledon.

Playing some of her finest tennis, the sixth-ranked Williams knocked off No. 2 Victoria Azarenka, who was the favorite to win it all, in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6. Williams played a masterful game on Azarenka's final serve of the first set. Azarenka battled back in the second set of the match, evening it up and forcing a tiebreak. Williams hit an ace, a Wimbledon record 24th ace, to win the tiebreak 8-6.

Williams last appeared in the finals at Wimbledon in 2010. She won that year as well as the year before, and has a total of four wins on the grass courts there. She advances to face Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, ranked third, in the finals.
