Union Vs. Toronto FC Final Score: Philadelphia Cruises To 3-0 Win On Sunday

The Philadelphia Union defeated Toronto FC, 3-0, on Sunday at PPL Park.

The Farfans and Jack McInerney set up the three goals scored by the Union on Sunday. Philadelphia put the match away in the first half with two bang-bang goals in the 34th and 36th minutes. Gabriel Gomez scored first on an assist from Michael Farfan and Jack McInerney. Gomez' fifth goal of the campaign came when the TFC defender fell down in the area trying to adjust to McInerney's cross, Gomez hit the ball in the net off the far post. Freddy Adu scored two minutes later after Gabriel Farfan sent a perfect through ball past a defender which sent Adu in on net unmarked. Adu took his shot from a tight angle and beat Milos Kocic to double the lead. Adu nearly had a brace with a chance in first half stoppage time. Adu shot wide of an open net on a rebound.

The chances continued for Philadelphia in the second half. They would not score until second half sub Antoine Hoppenot's marker in the 78th minute. Michael Farfan's through pass sent Hoppenot on net and he easily beat Kocic for his second tally of 2012.

The Union's turnaround under interim John Hackworth continues with another impressive result. Philadelphia has now won three of their last four matches and are making a move out of the Eastern Conference cellar. The next match for the Union will be a stiff test against Sporting Kansas City on July 11.
