Its not the NBA, but former Villanova Wildcat star point guard Corey Fisher has signed a contract to play professional basketball overseas. Fisher inked a deal Tuesday with FIATC Joventut Badalona of the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto in Spain.
This will be Fisher's second stint overseas, as last season he played with Antalya BSB of the Turkish League. In Turkey, Fisher averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 rebounds per game in 30 games. The decision to play overseas came after Fisher was not picked in the 2011 NBA Draft.
According to the SB Nation blog VUHoops:
Badalona is one of the more historic clubs in the ACB, having never been relegated from the top tier of Spanish basketball. However, they have fallen on hard times lately - they haven't finished with a winning record in three consecutive seasons.
(Hey wait, that sounds familiar!)
