Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy impressed a lot of people last season, running for 1,300 yards, with 300 receiving yards added onto it and scoring 20 total touchdowns. McCoy enters this season as the Eagles try to improve upon their offense from last year.
Michael Gallagher of the blog Fake Teams is pretty impressed with McCoy as well. So much so, that he put McCoy as the second best overall running back in the NFL. Placing only behind Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, Gallagher says that while maybe there may not be as productive as last season, he thinks that maybe if the Eagles' offense improves enough, McCoy could do more.
Almost every beat writer in Philly is singing the praises of Jeremy Maclin. I'm buying. Consequently, one would think that McCoy isn't going to be as productive as his 20-TD, 1.6K-yard 2011 season. On the other hand, the Eagles should be able to improve on their 24.8 PPG last year, so there should be a bigger pie to go around.
McCoy could be a cornerstone player for any fantasy team manager. He could be gone early so try to use a first or second round pick on him.
