Sixers To Play Nets At Boardwalk Hall In Atlantic City

The Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets will renew their historic rivalry a little early this year when they meet October 13th in a preseason game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The game is being billed as the “Boardwalk Classic.”

“We are delighted to add Sixers basketball to the thriving entertainment in Atlantic City, and we truly appreciate their hospitality during our Boardwalk Classic weekend,” Sixers CEO Adam Aron said.

This won’t be the first time the two have met in Atlantic City. They played back in 1982 and 83 at Convention Hall. During that time, the Sixers and Nets were powers in the Eastern Conference. It’s certainly interesting to see them doing this again at a time when they both look like they could be contenders in the coming years.

This also represents at least a bit of a coup for Atlantic City, who lost the Atlantic-10 Tournament to the Barclay’s Center, the new home of the Brooklyn Nets.
