The Philadelphia Eagles continue their preseason schedule as they take on the Cleveland Browns tonight at 7:30. The Eagles will be without quarterback Michael Vick, who injured his ribs against the New England Patriots and is expected to return by the season opener.
Rookie Nick Foles will start in Vick's place. The former Arizona standout, known for his accuracy in college, has displayed that same skill in the preseason. Foles has completed 24 of 38 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns through his first two games.
Foles talked about his plans for his first NFL start.
"I want to take it one play at a time, move the ball, and most [importantly] we want to put points on the board," he said. "It is really just executing the plays, one play at a time. Just continuing to excel [and] gain comfort in the offense and show the guys around me that I can go out and play at a high level with them."
The Browns are expected to give plenty of snaps to their own rookie quarterback, former Oklahoma State Cowboy Brandon Weeden. Weeden completed 12-20 attempts for a 118 yards in his last outing.
Both teams enter the game undefeated in the preseason. Philadelphia last picked up a win over New England on Monday Night Football. Cleveland took down the Super Bowl contending Green Bay Packers, 35-10, last Thursday.
