Michael Vick To Wear More Kevlar Padding In Season Opener

Michael Vick has suffered three rib injuries during his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he will start wearing thicker padding in an effort to prevent future injuries.

Vick, who suffered bruised ribs during the Eagles preseason game against the Patriots, will wear thicker Kevlar padding this season.

"It's going to be a little thicker. I got fitted the other day and I look forward to wearing those," said Vick, according to PhillyMag.com.

The padding Vick will wear is made by the company Unequal Technologies. Vick signed an endorsement deal with the company last January. The bruised ribs against the Patriots were Vick's third rib injury since joining the Eagles in 2009. Vick missed four games in 2010 with cracked rib cartilage and three more in 2011 with a rib contusion. He isn't expected to miss any time during the regular season due to his latest rib injury.
