Day 3 of the 2012 U.S. Open gets underway early Wednesday morning and a local Allentown resident will be in action on Court 17 in the early afternoon. Varvara Lepchenko will play her second match against Anastasia Rodionova. Lepchenko advanced on Monday with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 win over Mathilde Johansson. She's 2-3 all time out at Flushing and she'll look to pull to an even .500 against the unranked Australian. It's the second match of the day on Court 17 and should begin around 1 p.m. ET (depending on how the 11 a.m. match progresses).
Headlining the action at Arthur Ashe stadium will be No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, who opens play on the center stage at 11 a.m. ET against Kirsten Flipkens. John Isner will play in the second match of the day at Ashe Stadium, while Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray will play their second-round matches in the evening session.
Tournament coverage will be available online at U.S. Open Live, which covers the matches on all six courts. You can view a full schedule for Day 3 here.
