The 2012 London Olympics have been spectacular starting with the Opening Ceremonies, and promise to continue that trend on Friday. The morning will get a great day on the move with a plethora of events on the schedule.
The American swimmers have been dominant thus far, laying waste to much of the competition and reaching the medal stand consistently. Friday will provide ample opportunity to further their success for the team headlined by Missy Franklin, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.
The four finals are below:
2:30 p.m. ET: Women's 200 Backstroke
2:38 p.m. ET: Men's 100 Butterfly
2:45 p.m. ET: Women's 800m Freestyle
3:09 p.m. ET: Men's 50m Freestyle
The American Women's soccer team has its quarterfinal match on Friday morning, when they take on a tough-minded New Zealand squad at 9:30 a.m. ET.
U.S. Women's basketball has a contest against the Czech Republic in primetime at 5:30 p.m. ET. The Americans not surprisingly come in as the decided favorite to take care of business.
A pair of medals will be up for grabs with the Shooting competitions as well, with Philly locals Jamie Gray and Matt Emmons on the team. The Men's 50m Rifle will take place at 7:00 a.m. ET with the 25m Pistol following at 9:30 a.m. ET.
When the dust settles on Friday, a grand total of 27 medals will be earned by athletes who have worked their whole lives to reach the pinnacle of their dreams.
