PGA Championship 2012: Picks And Predictions

On Thursday, the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island is the setting for the 94th PGA Championship. If the fourth and final major of the year is anything like the first three, sit back and enjoy the show.

Here are a few men to watch closely as favorites this week to earn glory.

Tiger Woods is usually a prime candidate to win. Big surprise, he is once again. Woods is the favorite of many fans and experts to win despite not having come through in recent majors.

Farrell Evans of ESPN.com feels Woods' time has come to break out of his majors funk.

Jim Furyk is a man who has been so close, yet so far in recent times. Unfortunately, nobody can forget the meltdown he suffered in the U.S. Open earlier this summer. Although, being so close shows that the West Chester, PA native is in the hunt and still someone to be reckoned with. Bob Harig of ESPN thinks Furyk will break through this weekend.

Rory McIlroy is a top talent, but that goes without saying. He hasn't enjoyed the massive success some expected this year, but he's put together a fine year. He's expected to be in the fray, listed as a 10/3 favorite by multiple books.

Jason Dufner is perhaps the most underrated player in the field by the general public. He's been a top-performer this campaign and could make waves this weekend. He's a bold prediction of many including Chris Dunham, Ryan Smithson and Brian Wacker of PGATour.com.
