Former Boston U. Terriers forward Jake O'Brien has decided to transfer to the Temple Owls (via Jeff Goodman).

O'Brien is a former America East Rookie of the Year (2009). O'Brien decided to transfer after the Terriers were banned from the America East postseason tournament after announcing their decision to move to the Patriot League in 2013.

O'Brien (6-9, 220), averaged 11.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1 block in 29 minutes per game for Boston University in 2010-2011. O'Brien had a foot injury end his 2010-2011 season after 14 games. He reinjured the foot in Sept. 2011 and took a medical redshirt for the 2011-2012 season. After being named Rookie of the Year in 2009, he made the America East All-Conference Third Team and 2010 America East All-Tournament Team. O'Brien scored 1,020 points for the Terriers before the foot injuries kept him out of action.
