Team USA Vs. Japan Soccer: Americans Lead 1-0 At Halftime

At halftime, the Team USA soccer team is leading Japan 1-0 thanks to a goal by Delran, NJ's Carli Lloyd. If this turns out to be the final score, Lloyd will forever go down in USA soccer lore as the one who scored the game winning goals in two consecutive Olympics.

Lloyd scored the game winning goal in Beijing at the 2008 Olympics.

Still, at halftime Japan had 55 percent of the possessions. The U.S. countered with four shots on goal and seven shots total, while Japan had three shots on goal and six shots total. The Americans also had a pair of corner kicks.

The U.S. is currently on top of the overall medal count with 83, while China still leads the gold medal count with 37. A win here would bring the U.S. closer to the gold medal count lead and would obviously be a big moment for this group.
