The Philadelphia Phillies will conclude their four-game series at the Houston Astros on Sunday (2:05 p.m. ET on PHL17/94 WIP), and the Phillies (73-73) will be searching for a must-needed victory as they try to keep pace in the NL Wild Card spot, which sits three games ahead of Philadelphia.
Ace Roy Halladay (10-7, 4.01 ERA) will take the mound for the Phillies, opposed by 21-year-old Jordan Lyles, who's 4-11 with a 5.35 ERA. Halladay has won each of his last four decisions, while Lyles is coming off a win against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
A victory would help set up a possible nice run for Philadelphia, which will face the New York Mets Monday with Cole Hamels on the mound. However, a loss could mark the end of the Phillies' playoff hopes as they also face Cy Young Award candidate R.A. Dickey. The Phillies have just 16 regular-season games remaining on their schedule.
