The 2012 FedExCup Playoffs wrap up this weekend in Atlanta with the TOUR Championship. After a dramatic first three legs to the playoffs, only 30 players remain and each one has a mathematical shot at winning the $10 million prize. But only the top five in the standings control their own destiny after putting in a month of solid work on Tour. And some of the biggest names in the game make up that top five -- Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Nick Watney and Brandt Snedeker would all capture the Cup with a win at East Lake.
West Chester native Jim Furyk enters the week at No. 18 in the FedExCup Standings, and he'll need a lot to happen in front of him in order to pick up his second career Playoffs win. Furyk is no stranger to success at the legendary home of Bobby Jones, winning the FedExCup here two years ago. He'll need to pull off the win on the classic layout, and also hope the current top six in the standings take a tumble down the leaderboard. With the Ryder Cup drama settled, the veteran with the funkiest swing on Tour can just focus on showing well in Atlanta and maybe picking up a TOUR Championship victory.
