2012 U.S. Open Scores: Novak Djokovic Defeats Julien Benneteau

Sunday action in the 2012 U.S. Open is underway at Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

Novak Djokovic was the first player to punch his ticket to the Men's Quarterfinal as he defeated Julien Benneteau 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Djokovic had no trouble, dominating his opponent with 41 winners and 13 aces. Benneteau didn't help his cause with 22 unforced errors during the match.

Later this afternoon, Andy Roddick will begin his third-round match against Fabio Fognini. He has announced that this will be his last tournament as a professional, so it will certainly be an emotionally-charged atmosphere again at Ashe Stadium.

In women's quarterfinal action this afternoon, remaining players include Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka.
