The Tour Championship 2012: Jim Furyk Climbs To Top On Day 2

West Chester, Penn. native Jim Furyk has taken the top spot on the 2012 Tour Championship leaderboard after a second-round 64. Furyk came through with the best score of the round, and is now projected to finish second in the FedEx Cup standings if he can hold on to the lead.

Furyk stormed out of the gates on Friday, with seven birdies in his first 10 holes. He came back down to Earth on the back nine, swapping birdie for bogey on 15 through 18, and ended his round at 7-under for the tournament.

Justin Rose is one shot back of Furyk in second place. He shot a 2-under, 68, after coming into the day tied for the lead.

The man tied with Rose heading into Friday, Tiger Woods, struggled on his way to 73. Woods is now in a tie for 12th place headed into the weekend.
