Although the Philadelphia Eagles opened as favorites for Sunday night's game against the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field, their line has shrunk. What started as two points has shrunk to 1½ points in some sports books, 1 point in others and even lines in a few as well.

The total has also increased slightly from 47 points at opening to 47½ currently. The Eagles are coming off a 27-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in which the Eagles' offense just could not get moving, allowing quarterback Michael Vick to be sacked five times. The Eagles' defense didn't help things by allowing 222 passing yards and two touchdowns to Kevin Kolb.

The Giants, however, are coming off a 36-7 trouncing of the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Eli Manning threw for 288 yards and a touchdown, and running back Andre Brown ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns. The defense in that game forced Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to throw three interceptions.
