Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on Monday expressed the urgency that he and his teammates feel as the start of the season.
"We feel like there is a need to win, and win quickly," said Vick.
Vick noted the team's absence from the playoffs last season and first-round knockout after winning the NFC East in 2010, and said he hopes the team doesn't make the same mistakes this time around.
"Now, it’s all about seizing the moment -- getting an opportunity and taking full advantage of it," he said.
Despite having the playoffs on his mind, Vick said he is not looking past Philadelphia's Week 1 matchup with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are dealing with injuries on defense, but the Eagles won't take them lightly.
"They’re doing a lot of different things on defense that they didn’t show in the preseason," Vick said. "They’re a good football team, and we have to make sure we prepare and we study all the looks for when we come out."
Vick and the Eagles begin their 2012-13 season and quest for the playoffs at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday in Cleveland.
