The Philadelphia Eagles open their 2012 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns today at 1pm on FOX. You can catch the radio stream on 94.1FM, 610AM or in Spanish on 1680 WTTM.

Injury Update

The Browns will be without first and second string strong side linebackers Scott Fujita and James-Michael Johnson. Starting in their place will be undrafted rookie L.J. Fort. DT Phil Taylor was placed on the PUP list and in his place will reportedly be rookie 6th round pick Billy Winn. Cleveland will have rookie RB Trent Richardson, who missed all of preseason and most of training camp after knee surgery.

The Eagles will be without 4th WR Riley Cooper and special teamer Colt Anderson. RB Dion Lewis will be a game time decision. If he can't go, rookie Bryce Brown will serve as LeSean McCoy's backup. However, it's been reported that Brown have that job whether Lewis is healthy or not.

Last meeting

This will be the second meeting in 3 weeks for these teams, the first coming in the third week of preseason also in Cleveland. The Eagles won that game 27-10 sacking rookie Brandon Weeden 3 times, forcing 2 fumbles and limiting him to just 9 of 20 passing.

The last regular season meeting between these two was a 30-10 Eagles win on a Monday night in December of 2008. Donovan McNabb threw 2 TD passes and Asante Samuel had a pick 6 off then Browns starter Ken Dorsey.

Betting line

The Browns are 9.5 point underdogs at home, a line that has risen from 6 points, where it opened earlier this week.

Matchup history

This will be the 48th meeting between these teams (kind of, considering this Browns team is an expansion franchise and the one the Eagles played all those years is now the Baltimore Ravens) and the Eagles have a record of 15-31-1. Andy Reid is 3-0 against Cleveland.
