2012 U.S. Open Women's Final: Serena Williams Wins 2012 U.S. Open

It took three sets, but Serena WIlliams defeated Victoria Azarenka to win the 2012 U.S. Open women's singles final. Williams defeated the No. 1 seed 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 to secure her fourth U.S. Open title. Azarenka was two points from victory before Williams rallied to win the final four games of the final set. The victory was Williams 15th grand slam title, and she became the first woman to win Wimbeldon and the U.S. Open in the same year since she won them both in 2002.

Earlier in the day the second men's semifinal was completed, as No. 2 Novak Djokovic defeated No. 4 David Ferrer 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to his third straight men's final. He'll take on Andy Murray Monday at 4 p.m. ET.
