In taking a 3-1 series lead over top-seeded Chicago, the Philadelphia 76ers afforded themselves three opportunities to unseat the Bulls in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

And after striking out on chance one, Philly will take to the court again on Thursday night with the hopes of ending the series on their home court.

It will take a better offensive effort than during game five, as the 76ers were held to just 69 points 32.1 percent shooting, and no Sixer connected on more than five field goal attempts.

Returning home is a positive for Philly, as they toppled Chicago in both games three and four, each of which were played at the Wells Fargo Center.

A win for Philadelphia would set up a second-round matchup against either Boston or Atlanta, who will play a game six of their own on Thursday night.

But before the Sixers can look ahead, they know they have a tall enough task of their own to square away first.

Philadelphia Phillies ace Roy Halladay didn't appear to be himself Wednesday night, surrendering eight earned runs in just five and one thirds innings of work.

His unusual outing could be related to his mind being in a different place, as it was reported this morning that Halladay has left the team to tend to a 'personal matter.'

The report states that there is nothing wrong with Halladay's health.

Despite the poor outing on Wednesday night, Halladay still boasts a 3.40 ERA this season. While it's not in the stratosphere that he usually achieves, it's still an early season and he is likely to resume his typical dominance upon his return to the Phillies.

Joe Blanton will take the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies in the rubber match of their series against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday afternoon, and he'll square off against Randall Delgado.

Offense has been an issue for Philadelphia throughout much of the season, but the team knocked in 13 runs last night, including seven off of the bat of catcher Carlos Ruiz. Although the effort proved futile in what turned out to be a 15-13 loss, it's a good sign that the bats may soon be back on track for the Phillies.

Blanton has been strong as a starter this year, pitching at least six innings and allowing no more than three runs in three of his four outings.

For the first time this postseason, the Philadelphia Flyers were held to less than two goals in their game two loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night, and they know enough that that needs to change entering game three on Thursday.

In fact, Philadelphia hadn't been held to a single goal in a game for more than a month, dating back to a March 20 regular season defeat at the hands of Florida.

But there's no time to panic, as the Flyers know that regaining home ice advantages against the Devils is pivotal to the momentum swing in this series, and they'll hope their offensive struggles will stall at just a single game. That means finding a way to solve the ageless Martin Brodeur in front of a rowdy New Jersey crowd, which is no small chore.

Based off of the latest grumblings going around the world of mock drafts, it would seem that Philadelphia would be thrilled to get its hands on Cox, who many foresee as a top ten selection.

The Eagles have a glaring need to beef up their defense, and landing Cox would provide them with an interior run stuffing presence who could tandem with Cullen Jenkins to fortify the middle.

The draft begins Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. EST, and can be seen on ESPN or NFL Network.

Here's what we know about the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft: Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III will be the first two players off the board. After that, it's a little less clear what will happen.

But, for one last look at an educated guess, here's a pair of mock drafts from SBNation.com's Ryan Van Bibber and MockingTheDraft.com.

Van Bibber sees the Eagles targeting cornerback Stephon Gilmore of South Carolina: "If Kuechly is still on the board, Philly should take him. In this trip, he is not available, but a really good cornerback is. Asante Samuel is gone. DRC may be gone after this season, his last under contract. Gilmore now looks like the second-best corner in the draft."

MTD, meanwhile, also believes the Eagles will aim for a defensive player, with Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly as the primary target: "What's old is new again for this choice. Kuechly was long-considered the Eagles' choice until the team acquired DeMeco Ryans. But as good as Ryans should be for Philadelphia, he's only one linebacker. At the weak side, Kuechly would be a big-time upgrade over Brian Rolle or Casey Matthews. It won't be a stunner if Kuechly is gone by the time this pick happens."

The first round of the NFL Draft is finally here. Almost.

You've likely read through dozens of mock drafts, decided upon your favorite prospects, and speculated upon enough trade scenarios to make your head spin.

But before the event gets started, here's the skinny on what you need to know.

The Draft begins at 8:00 p.m. EST on Thursday night, with just the first round taking place that evening. The second and third rounds will continue on Friday, with the final four rounds to be held on Saturday.

You can watch the event on both ESPN and NFL Network, and rest assured each will usher out their strongest lineup of talent to break down every pick, trade and rumor.

The Eagles are slated to pick 15th, but with Andy Reid involved, never rule out a trade up scenario.

Roy Halladay pitched well enough to win, throwing seven strong innings and allowing just two runs, but his efforts proved futile for the Phillies on Saturday night, as they fell 5-1 to the Padres in San Diego.

It wasn't until the top of the ninth inning that Philadelphia was able to generate anything offensively, when Ty Wiggington's double off of Huston Street scored Jimmy Rollins for the lone Phillies run. The offense continues to spoil solid outing from their starting pitchers, and it will need to pick it up even more as Cliff Lee heads to the DL with an oblique strain.

Cory Luebke went eight innings to earn his second win of the season for San Diego, who has now won their first game in three tries this series.

With just a week before the start of the 2012 NFL draft, mock drafts are all the rage. (Although they sort of are throughout the entire year, too).

Former Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still figures to hear his name called early on in the proceedings, at least according to Wes Bunting's latest projection over at National Football Post, where he has Still headed to the new land of Peyton at pick 25.

Bunting on Still-to-Denver:

He's not the most dynamic of pass rushers. However, he's a big, strong kid with a good get off, long set of arms and knows how to play the run. He's a potential anchor inside who can push the pocket and give the Broncos a guy they can win with inside.

Based off of Bunting's take and other credible sources around the mock draft world, Still should end up somewhere in the range of the late first or early second round.

Regardless of when his name is called, Still will enjoy the unique opportunity of greeting Commissioner Roger Goodell, as he is one of 26 confirmed attendees of the draft.
