Temple RB Montel Harris is finally healthy and making an impact

Temple's go-to running back has battled injuries for the last year, and he is finally feeling better and putting up yardage.

Temple Owls running back Montel Harris has battled a hamstring injury this season after sitting out last year while rehabbing a knee issue. He is finally healthy, and it making an impact on the field.

Harris made a splash in his first two Big East games with Temple, rushing for a combined 275 yards on 54 carries. The Owls won both those games, and they will need Harris to continue performing if they are to remain undefeated in the conference.

The fifth-year senior transfer from Boston College, who was dismissed from the program for violations of team rules following setting the Eagles' career rushing mark, credits his experience in BCS conference games with BC for some of his Big East success, according to Dave Zeitlin of CSN Philly:

"It definitely adds a little bit knowing I’ve played in big games before. This is my last chance to prove to everyone that I’m a great player and a great person."

The Owls will face a tough test on Saturday when they face the undefeated Rutgers Scarlet Knights. A win would put Temple all alone at the top of the conference with road games against Pittsburgh and Louisville in the next three weeks.
