College Football Rankings: Oregon Reigns Supreme

The Associated Press has released its top 25 college football poll and the Oregon Ducks remain as the nation’s number one team. The Boise St. Broncos, Auburn Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs and Michigan State Spartans round out the rest of the top five.

The big mover this week was Auburn who jumped up two spots to no. 3 after its 24-17 home victory over LSU, who was ranked no. 6 going into the game. LSU dropped to no. 12 this week.

The losers this week were Iowa, who dropped five spots to no. 18 after its loss to Wisconsin this week, and Oklahoma State, who fell three spots to no. 20 after it lost to Nebraska, 51-41. Nebraska QB Tyler Martinez threw for 323 yards and five touchdowns in that game.

We’ll keep an eye on the FCS top 25 poll when it comes out tomorrow. Last week, we had three local Delaware Valley teams ranked in the top 25. Villanova and Penn both won, but no. 2 ranked Delaware lost to no. 5-ranked William & Mary.
